Ideally situated on the banks of a fabulous natural lake and surrounded by the foothills of the Jura; Domaine de Chalain is a quite spectacular park. It features a fantastic pool complex with waterslides, children's pool, jacuzzi and heated indoor pool. A wide range of sporting activities are available, although some may not be available until July. You have free access to the pool however there is a credit system in operation, please ask at time of booking. The adjoining lakeside beach is a great place to soak up the sun, but you can also fish, swim, or hire a pedalo or canoe. There are also many beautiful walks and gorgeous wine villages to be explored and the many attractions of Switzerland are within easy reach.

There is a weekly coach excursion to Disneyland Resort Paris, but it is about an hour's drive if you prefer to go in your own time. Compiegne is 15 miles away and Soissons is 11 miles; the sleepy village of Pierrefonds with a fairytale castle is only 9 miles away.

The former stables have been carefully converted into a welcoming shop and bar, and the traditional French restaurant, La Ferme Gourmande, is set in an old farmstead where both locals and guests relish the gourmet fare. Budding sports stars can use the site facilities including tennis and mini-golf while off site explore the extensive forest of Guines on bike or by foot.

The Jura is a wonderful region for exploring; the Herisson Waterfalls make for a spectacular day out, while the French Alps are also close by.
