You are spoilt for choice as to where to swim on this park. With the superb pool complex including a hydro massage spa it may be difficult to decide whether to use the on park facilities or the clear waters of Lake Garda; there is direct access to the lake with its pebbled beach and tree-lines shore. Zocco is ideally situated for enjoying the Italian atmosphere with views of the delightful town of Sirmione across the lake. There are plenty of open grassy spaces for children to play on and some shaded pitches; in high season it may be necessary to park away from your pitch. A short walk away there is an open-air disco for older children to enjoy; however some noise can be heard at night.

Popular with young families, Fornella is a friendly, family-run park with English speaking owners. Providing the perfect setting for drinks and meals the excellent restaurant, bar and pizzeria overlooks the lake, the park also has two good pools, including a children's pool. Set alongside an olive grove, this is a superb park for enjoying the lake; bathe in its cool waters or simply relax and soak up the sun. A short drive away you will San Felice del Benaco or if you prefer 'Gardaland', a superb fun park which is ideal for the whole family is a little further to drive.
Cisano/San Vito at Lake Garda

This attractive park on the eastern shores of Lake Garda is situated just outside the small village of Cisano di Bardolino to the north of the old Venetian port of Lazise. San Vito is set just away from the lake but shares facilities, including a lakeside beach, with adjacent Cisano; access via an underpass. A welcoming and friendly park which has the advantage of generally grassy emplacements on both sites, with holiday homes on San Vito and canvas on Cisano. San Vito has a small pool, but most facilities, including a larger pool complex, restaurant and bar, are on Cisano. There's a lively animation programme from mid-May when games and competitions are on offer for all the family as well as fortnightly outdoor discotheques.

As motorboats are not permitted the lake it is perfect for windsurfing or swimming. Just 1km away you will find the small town of Crone or you can use the park's own restaurant, bar and shop. East of Idro is an enormous natural area that extends right to the western shores of Lake Garda; and to the North of the lake is the mountainous province of Trentino or Alt'Adige.

For the more leisurely the easily accessible little lakeside beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing or you can use the first class pool facilities. Alternatively you can simply relax with a glass of wine whilst admiring the surrounding scenery. The pretty lakeside town of Portese, with its lake ferry that can take you to Gardaland, a superb fun park which is ideal for the whole family, is nearby.

And after a busy day there is no better way to unwind than over a leisurely meal in the friendly restaurant with its wonderful lake views. Bella Italia is also ideally placed for sightseeing, based as it is on the south eastern tip of Lake Garda, at the start of the 'Olive Tree Riviera' and less than a mile from the lovely town of Peschiera. From here you can wander along the Mincio River and visit the Sigurtà Botanical Gardens and the spectacular walled city of Mantua.

With boats as frequent as buses you can relax and enjoy the magnificent sights with someone else doing the work. The campsite has a lovely open feel with pleasant, grassy pitches. There's also plenty to do on site with tennis courts, table tennis and swimming pools for all the family, as well as organised activities during the high season. The pebbly lake beach is ideal to soak up the sun or try out canoeing. The nearby villages of Moniga and Manerba are really most attractive but the regular boat trips available from nearby Desenzano are definitely the best way to see most of the pretty lakeside villages.
