When you're seeking a really quiet and relaxing holiday, you'll find Le Port de Limeuil very much to your taste. Club Farret at Vias Plage, Languedoc
Club Farret is a part of the Yelloh Village chain of campsites. A family run park, it offers everything that you would wish for in a sun and sand holiday, with plenty to do for the whole family. Set close to a long stretch of golden sandy beach this is a lively site with some great facilities. A lagoon style pool complex is a real suntrap, surrounded as it is by palms and shrubs. Children are well catered for with their own separate pool and seven playgrounds. For older children and adults there are also a wide range of sports activities ranging from table tennis to archery. Le Farret benefits from direct access to a wonderful sandy Mediterranean beach and the site's excellent restaurant and pirate-themed bar facilities have more than enough to entertain you for the duration of your stay, however if you can tear yourself away from the park a short 500m walk will take you directly into Vias Plage with its lively bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
Sylvamar at Labenne Ocean, Gascony
Camping Sylvamar is part of the Yelloh! Village chain of campsites. The excellent facilities, located away from our accommodation, include a lagoon style watermark complete with waterslides and lazy river, overlooked by the modern restaurant and bar terrace. It is just a fifteen minute walk or cycle to the fine sandy beaches of this area, and water sports facilities are widely available. Whilst there is plenty to do at this well-maintained campsite, the Les Landes forest is perfect for cyclists. Campsite rules are strictly enforced for the benefit and comfort of all guests. The facilities on this park are second to none, especially the superb aquatic area with its three pools, lazy river and triple waterslide. About 900m away, you can learn to surf and body board in the spectacular Atlantic waves. There are dozens of activities for kids of all ages, as well as entertainment, cantered around the bar-restaurant every night in high season, with the promise that all will be quiet after midnight. And the park owner is keen for all rules to be respected for the benefit and comfort of all guests. Beyond the park, Labenne offers endless forest roads and cycle paths; while the town itself has a splendid outdoor market, two petting zoos, as well as the lovely Marais d'Orx nature park.
Domaine de la Rive at Biscarosse, Gascony
This park is nestled amongst acres of the famous Landaise Forests. Apart from boasting one of the best lakeside beaches in the South West and being awarded the prestigious La Clef Verte award, the owner has created a superb water park, which is being expanded to include a wave pool, jacuzzi, spa and massage water beds, all under a retractable dome roof. If you can tear yourself away from this, then you can indulge in a spot of tennis, archery or petanque. The delightful bar and restaurant overlook a well equipped and spacious play area and the quaint town of Biscarosse with its bars, shops and nightlife only a short drive away.
Moliets 4 Sun at Moliets et Maa, Gascony
The holiday village at Moliets has to be one of your first choices if you're looking for an active family holiday set in tranquil surroundings. At the forest's edge is Moliets-Plage, the 3km wide beach resort, developed sensitively, and with great charm. Le Vieux Port at Messanges, Gascony
On the Atlantic coast, Le Vieux Port is close to a magnificent long, sandy beach, backed by sand dunes, which shelves steeply into the lively waves. The park is located in a beautiful pine forest and has some great facilities including a great pool complex with seven pools and excellent waterslides. With ochre buildings it blends into the scenery so well that when you first set eyes on the glorious swimming pools, they create a quite startling contrast. Holiday Marina is a small, modern campsite just 900m from the beach and set on the banks of the River Giscle. The campsite is set in a wonderful location within walking distance of picturesque Port Grimaud. The site has a spacious swimming pool with a separate pool for children, plus a jacuzzi. Chateau de Drancourt at St Valery, Picardy
Being situated just three miles from St Valery and amidst the lush meadows of a private chateau; this Castels site has lovely spacious parklands. The owners have created a family atmosphere with some excellent facilities situated around the chateau include swimming pools surrounded by a sun terrace. Children will love the play areas and the three pools, one of which is covered, while the golf range is popular with absolutely everyone. For the active there are tennis, mountain bike hire and a golf driving range. The restaurant and cosy lounge bar are perfect places to spend the evening. There are many wide, sandy beaches along this stretch of coastline.
Camping le Bois de Valmarie at Argeles, Languedoc
Camping le Bois de Valmarie is a relaxed campsite, unwind here with a refreshing drink from the snack bar, while the children have hours of fun whizzing down the water chutes in the three lagoon style pools linked by waterfalls. The terraced emplacements rise up the hillside towards the pool, from where there are outstanding views over the bay of Argeles. At the bottom of the site, surrounded by colourful flower beds, you will find the superb restaurant. La Pergola at Lac de Chalain, Jura
This award winning park is situated on the shoreline of the Lac de Chalain and is a great place to explore the lakes and mountains of this wonderful area.
