Ciboure at Ciboure, Gascony
Sheltered in the calmer waters of the St Jean de Luz bay, the water sports and activities here are a degree or two more chilled out than at the larger resorts to the north. Ciboure offers all the exhilaration for those who like to take the air, or even take to the waters, in relative peace and tranquillity. On land the accent is on quiet enjoyment, Ciboure is calm compared to its busy fishing port neighbour of Saint Jean-de-Luz, but there is still plenty to keep you busy. You're not too far from the Spanish border, with the beautiful Pyrenees rising in the south.

La Garangeoire is without a doubt one of the most prestigious members of the Castels chain. It offers you a breathtakingly beautiful setting amongst woods, meadows and lakes, yet still manages to be just a 15 minute drive from the superb Vendee beaches. The estate contains generous, mainly un-shaded pitches and you are welcome to explore a number of delightful well marked walks. There's just so much to do here, from tennis, which is free in early and late summer, to fishing and boating on the lake. Why not enjoy an evening in the modern restaurant and bar overlooking the superb pool, or a quiet drink in the cosy pub style bar which is located in the tastefully converted outbuildings of the chateau.
Yelloh Village le Littoral at Les Sables-d'Olonne, Vendee
The campsite is situated next to a grassy headland with rock pools and coastal paths to explore. The facilities on site are superb and include a fantastic pool complex, which offers an outdoor pool with a large sun terrace, waterslides and jacuzzi, as well as a heated indoor pool. In high season families can enjoy a good programme of lively entertainment in the campsite bar or take one of the excursions to local attractions, such as the picturesque port of Pornic and the island nature reserve of Ile de Re. Please note that some noise from a nearby road may be heard from some of the pitches.

Access has never been easier due to the new Millau Viaduct. The park offers many amenities, including a restaurant, bar and pizzeria housed in the medieval farm buildings at the bottom of the park. Yet the real beauty of Cantobre is the breadth of outdoor activities on offer. This is also a Walking and Wildlife park.

There are several shops not too far from the park, including a well-stocked supermarket, which is open from June onwards.

Camping du Golf is a beautiful, small site with spacious grassy emplacements, in a perfect location for exploring the area. With the beach and town just a short walk away, there is plenty to see and do. There are also great walking and cycling paths around the coast which deliver some spectacular views of the nearby Channel Islands. The whole family will enjoy the heated indoor pool and excellent entertainment on site, with sports competitions and discos held regularly by the animation team. Surrounded by lush green countryside the park enjoys plenty of shade from established trees and even has its own charming little lake, which is a popular spot for fishing. The owners arrange a variety of traditional entertainment throughout the season too, including live bands and weekly discos in high season. And as well as all the other attractions of the Dordogne, both Salignac and Sarlat are just a short drive away.

This park offers a well equipped pool complex with an indoor and heated outdoor pool; jacuzzi; 2 waterslides and small slides for the little ones.
