There is also a small friendly bar, a shop and take-away to meet most needs. Discos and evening entertainment are occasionally organised in high summer, but this park isn't really for those seeking nightlife. Camping la Pointe St Gilles at Benodet
This is a lively site with impressive facilities including an exciting pool complex and a brand new wellness centre opening in the summer 2010. Unwind on the sun terraces surrounding the pools or in the inviting jacuzzi. Most of the emplacements here are grassy and are divided by trees and tall hedges, which provide privacy, shade and plenty of space for the children to play. The friendly atmosphere of the bar is a good place to relax in the evening and throughout the season you can join in with the entertainment programme, which caters for families of all ages. Venture off site to explore the hidden coves and rock pools which adorn this rugged coastline.
La Vallee at Houlgate
Situated in Normandy, La Vallee has a glorious rural setting and is not far from a sandy beach and the Edwardian seaside town of Houlgate. This pretty park is scattered with flowering hedges and fruit trees, with some of the excellent facilities. At the heart of site is a beautifully converted Norman manor house in which you will find a bar that overlooks the pool complex. In addition to the pools, one with a new slide, and well-equipped play area, there is an the park entertainment team who arrange a wide variety of activities for the whole family, including discos in the games room and Karaoke nights. Please note that some train noise can be heard in some areas.
Les Genets at St Jean Plage
Surrounded by attractive woodland, the excellent facilities make Les Genets ideal for a family holiday. Older children will particularly enjoy a holiday at this lively campsite. The focal point is the outstanding watermark with jacuzzi, waterslides, water chute and lazy-river as well as spacious sun terraces and a new modern bar just been added. A short stroll takes you to a beautiful sandy beach or you can explore the woods and dunes along the coast. This site is three quarters of a mile from Merlin Plage, and four miles from St Jean-de-Monts.

Chateau des Ormes is clearly no ordinary park from the peaceful woodland setting and the 18-hole golf course to the extensive range of facilities, this site is a firm favourite for all families. The on site riding stables mean you don't have to go far to enjoy wonderful treks; the stables caters for all ages and abilities. For those who prefer to sit and relax the pool complex is your place with multiple pools to choose from and the waterslides to keep the children occupied. This park is the perfect place to relax, unwind and get away from it all. The pool complex has something for everyone including indoor and outdoor pool areas, as well as a shallow area for toddlers. A short walk from the park is a fantastic beach; the island is surrounded by brilliant beaches perfect for swimming and wind surfing. For those who want to explore there are many cycle paths around the island, or Ile de Re can be reached via a toll bridge. With 250 acres of chateau parkland and woods, this site is extremely popular with our customers, particularly teenagers, and becomes very lively in high season. Les Ormes also offers you an extensive range of good facilities, together with an even more impressive range of activities. Golf and riding take pride of place on the sporting agenda however, as the park has its own 18 hole course, complete with an exclusive clubhouse for golfers and horse riding school offering rides for all ages and treks for all abilities. You can also play tennis, ramble through the vast and beautiful estate, or you may just want to enjoy the splendid water park style pool complex, with new wave pool and covered pool. You can get a refreshing drink at the lakeside bar, or perhaps on the terrace next to the swimming pool complex where lots of evening entertainment is on offer. Children will love the watermark with its four-lane waterslide and the newly built indoor pool complex. There is also a recently built outdoor wave pool, great fun for all the family to enjoy. Pedalos can be hired on the campsite lake. There is a cosy pub with lakeside terrace and restaurant, plus all-weather football pitch and an activity programme all season. Dol-de-Bretagne is 8km away.

With a small beach just outside the entrance and the bustling resort of Benodet a lovely coastal walk away, this park offers you the best of both worlds. Awarded the prestigious La Clef Verte award, this family run park has great facilities including a superb pool complex, with waterslides, spa, jacuzzi and indoor pool. There's also an impressive new health and beauty centre, which is ideal if you fancy a bit of pampering. For the livelier there are popular discos, organised by the park owners. Nearby Benodet is well worth a visit, with its multitude of promenade cafes, creperies and restaurants. And if you want to discover Brittany's historic and rustic charms, they're also within easy to reach from here.

Relaxing at Camping la Yole is easy; most of the pitches are surrounded by hedges, offering privacy and shade from the hot Vendee sun. In the evening, you can have a relaxing drink in the bar, which is also the scene of regular family discos in high season, or perhaps enjoy a meal in the equally pleasant restaurant. There are several shops not too far from the park, including a well-stocked supermarket, which is open from June onwards.
La Foret at St Julien des Landes
Just a 10 minute walk from St Julien-des-Landes, this park has a peaceful, rural setting in the parklands of a chateau. Catering for the whole family there is plenty of space for the children to play, and two pools set either side of the chateau. There are 3 lakes for fishing and you will find the bar and many of the park facilities in an attractively converted ivy-clad stables.
Sol a Gogo at St Hilaire
The Camping Sol-aÂ -Gogo is a well kept park with direct access to a superb beach. Just a short stroll from the resort of Les Mouettes, the park has a fantastic swimming pool complex with water chutes, waterslides and a covered pool. In high summer the park entertainers organise a range of family activities including regular discos in the bar. Some noise may be heard from the local road. The park is close to the lively resorts of St Hilaire and St Jean de Monts.

The modern restaurant and bar overlooking the superb pool and the cosy pub style bar offer a pleasant evening.

There's also a good supermarket and a convenient take-away for trouble-free catering. Family entertainment is organised during July and August. This site is especially popular with families that have younger children and included with the mini fun station are toddler swimming lessons. Away from the park discover Brittany's historic and rustic charms.

One of the premier parks in Normandy, La Vallee enjoys a glorious rural setting not far from a sandy beach and the seaside town of Houlgate. The parc managers are very proud of their park and are keen for regulations to be respected; all in all, this is a superb family park.
Parc des Alicourts at Pierrefitte
Alicourts is a family run site that is perfect if you are looking for a holiday that is a little off the beaten track. Located just outside the sleepy village of Pierrefitte this park has some great facilities and you will find lots of organised activities to keep the children amused. There is an imaginative adventure play area which is conveniently overlooked by the bar terrace and an excellent pool complex with waterslides. Swimming in the large lake is allowed or if you want something more leisurely then you can hire a pedalo. You can also relax on the sandy lakeside beach and you will find that the beach bar has some outstanding views across the lake and pool complex. On the park there is also a good restaurant, a 9 hole golf course and a Balneo therapy wellness centre, including sauna, massage, Turkish bath and hydro-massage.
L'Atlantique at Beg Meil
L'Atlantique's centrepiece is undoubtedly the swimming pool complex, which has a new covered pool, jacuzzi and health and beauty centre in addition to large waterslides and spectacular pools. You will also be equally impressed by the authentic fishing boat in the play area and the ocean-themed mini golf. In peak season, the owners organise competitions, sports, evening entertainment and discos and they have also created some pitches bordered by hedges, as well as clean, modern toilet blocks. With a lovely beach right on its doorstep, l'Atlantique enjoys an idyllic setting too, ideal for families with children. The walk to the beach even takes you across a stream and through a nature reserve with all kinds of wildlife and you will also find plenty of places to dine nearby.
Les Deux Fontaines at Raguenes
Les Deux Fontaines, 2km from the village of Nevez, is a spacious site set in peaceful countryside. The attractive pool area, prettily edged with laurel hedges, is an ideal spot for relaxing with the family. The bar opens out onto a pleasant terrace overlooking the recently extended pool and water chute. 900m away is the beautiful sandy beach. The pool complex features both a water chute and a four lane waterslide. If you're feeling more energetic, you can try a game of tennis, volleyball or even basketball, and in high summer the park owners organise evening entertainment in the bar, which overlooks the newly extended pool. Beyond the park, a short stroll along a shady track brings you to a safe, sandy beach and should you feel the urge to explore further, the coastline has many sandy inlets and tiny harbours to discover. You could also make the short drive to the village of Nevez, with its small selection of shops and bars.
