Les Mouettes at Carantec, Brittany
Les Mouettes is situated near one of the most beautiful bays on the Breton coast. Carantec has a feeling of peace and spaciousness that makes it a popular choice with families. Mature trees and shrubs enhance the park area where most of the pitches are grassy and some are partly shaded but, there are also some large, sunny pitches. One of the main attractions is the impressive swimming pool complex overlooked by the bar terrace, where the children will enjoy floating along the lazy river surrounding the huge water chutes. They can also try their hand at the unusual 18-hole crazy-golf course, not forgetting the beach is just 1.5km away. The picturesque old port of Roscoff is near by and offers boat trips to the island of Batz.

Le Parc de Fierbois offers a host of activities, many of which take place in and around the park's central square. Les Ormes also offers you an extensive range of good facilities, together with an even more impressive range of activities. Golf and riding take pride of place on the sporting agenda however, as the park has its own 18 hole course, complete with an exclusive clubhouse for golfers and horse riding school offering rides for all ages and treks for all abilities. You can also play tennis, ramble through the vast and beautiful estate, or you may just want to enjoy the splendid water park style pool complex, with new wave pool and covered pool. You can get a refreshing drink at the lakeside bar, or perhaps on the terrace next to the swimming pool complex where lots of evening entertainment is on offer. Children will love the watermark with its four-lane waterslide and the newly built indoor pool complex. There is also a recently built outdoor wave pool, great fun for all the family to enjoy. Pedalos can be hired on the campsite lake. There is a cosy pub with lakeside terrace and restaurant, plus all-weather football pitch and an activity programme all season. Dol-de-Bretagne is 8km away.

Enjoying a peaceful location in the grounds of a lovely old manor house, the park has been developed by the friendly owners to a very high standard, with excellent facilities, especially for young families. The superb pool complex has two pools, one with a lazy river, toboggans and a retractable roof over one of the pools. There is an indoor Spa and Jacuzzi with a Hammam (Turkish bath) and massage available. The park is extremely pretty, in a lovely setting close to a small village and is also perfectly placed for sightseeing. The Loire River is just a short distance away, with opportunities for canoeing and fishing. Most importantly, the Loire is most famous for its many chateaux, two of which, Chambord and Blois, are close to hand.
Camping de I' Atlantique at Fouesnant, Brittany
The bar and terrace at Camping de l'Atlantique overlook the pools allowing you to keep an eye on the youngsters as they whiz down the slides. The lively bar hosts a variety of entertainment in high season, including karaoke, magic shows and a weekly disco. Young children have a great time on site, exploring the fishing boat in the play area, or playing mini-golf on the Wizard of Oz course. Although lively in high season the site is much quieter in May and June making it ideal for young families. A path leads you through cool pine trees and over dunes to a fine sandy beach.

Yelloh! Village la For?t, tucked away from the bustle of Les Sables d?Olonne amidst rolling meadowland, is a small site set in the grounds of a ch?teau. The campsite facilities are set in converted buildings in the courtyard ? the bar is housed in the old stables, while the restaurant with open fire and oak-beamed ceiling is in an ivy-clad outhouse. Head through the stone archway into the ch?teau gardens and to the two covered pools beyond. Here you?ll find plenty of space to relax, plus a fun water slide for the children. There is also a football pitch, badminton court and playground. Keen fishermen can unwind in peace at one of the three lakes, settling down for a spot of carp and roach fishing in idyllic surroundings.
Camping les Deux Fontaines at Raguenes, Brittany

There is much to see here the Ile de Penotte, a picturesque old quarter in the town centre with pedestrian alleys and facades decorated with shells by a local artist, not to mention the La Chaume quarter, where the city originated, the fishermen's district, with the Place Sainte Anne and its magnificent trompe l'il fresco. And don't miss the delicious food market or fishing port where you can find fish at its freshest. The historical theme park, Le Grand Parc du Puy du Fou is also just 92km away. Located in the Vendee, a region famous for its long sandy beaches, close to Les Sables d'Olonne, Residence L'Estran is a hotel and residence located between the Puits d'Enfer, a deep cleft in the cliff into which the sea comes crashing at high tide, and the town centre. The swimming pool faces the sea and the sandy beaches are just 2km away. There are many activities available locally too such as golf and water sports. There is something for everyone.

Morlaix is worth visiting with its pretty setting along a river estuary and its old, cobbled shopping streets.

In the evening, you can have a relaxing drink in the bar, which is also the scene of regular family discos in high season, or perhaps enjoy a meal in the equally pleasant restaurant. There are several shops not too far from the park, including a well-stocked supermarket, which is open from June onwards.
La Garangeoire at St Julien des Landes, Vendee
La Garangeoire is without a doubt one of the most prestigious members of the Castels chain. It offers you a breathtakingly beautiful setting amongst woods, meadows and lakes, yet still manages to be just a 15 minute drive from the superb Vendee beaches.
